22-09-2002:
Recoba scored for the first time this season, bringing his personal
tally in the Serie A up to 39. The Uruguayan likes scoring against
Reggina - today's injury-time winner was his fourth goal in
four matches against the side from Reggio Calabria.
Alvaro Recoba was the first player to speak to journalists after
Inter's dramatic 2-1 win away to Reggina.
"After their equaliser we threw ourselves
up front. I'm sorry for Reggina, they played a fantastic match.
We did well to take advantage of their tranquillity after the
equaliser," said Recoba , who grabbed the winner for Inter
in Reggio Calabria.
"We played well for ninety minutes and we
couldn't throw everything away in three minutes. Now we're just
thinking about resting in view of Wednesday's very important
match."
"It's the first time it has happened to me to win a match
after having suffered an equaliser at the ninetieth minute,"
said the Uruguayan striker.
"It had happened to me to score in the ninetieth
minute, but never to win like this. However, only winning counts."
Recoba continued, "They believed right to
the end, but us more than them. On the occasion of the goal,
Crespo did very well to pass me that ball. I was very tired
and I only thought about kicking it hard towards their goal."
