Press conference with Cuper
and Recoba
18-12-2002:
MILAN - "I'm fine at Inter and I've never asked to leave. I don't
have any problems and I'm willing to repeat that anywhere and to
anyone." That was Alvaro Recoba 's brusque reply to an article published
in today's Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Uruguayan international striker continued, "I have the impression
that someone wants to create an issue out of it at all costs. I
don't agree, above all because the matter doesn't correspond to
the truth - on my part I will never behave in this way towards Inter
because it wouldn't be right, and also out of respect for the president
and the fans. I would like this to be very clear."

Questions to Cuper:
Do the rumours about Recoba or others annoy you?
I'm not annoyed at all. I think Recoba has been very clear. I don't
understand the reason for certain things, he's fine at Inter. He's
said it and I'm also saying it.
Is it difficult to find a definitive position for Recoba?
I think it's an advantage to have a player capable of playing in
diverse positions. I don't always say it, but I know where he prefers
to play. But if Recoba can play in two or three different positions,
it's better for me.
But which do you think is his ideal position?
Where he's needed. I've already said it - for me, Recoba is a striker
that must be free to move along the whole of the front line.
