Recoba scores twice on his 26th birthday.

After the match Lecce-Inter, Alvaro Recoba received a call from Massimo Moratti, Inter's President. Chino, the author of two goals, has commented:
"The President congratulated me the first. Moratti was very happy and his happiness made me full of joy. It's been a great birthday".

Once back from Lecce, Alvaro Recoba has been welcome by many supporters at Malpensa:
"I had dinner with my whole family , who came from Uruguay to celebrate my birthday, two friends from Venice and Lalo Sorondo . During the dinner, Dario Silva and Paco Casal called me up to congratulate me both for my birthday and my two goals, specially for the first. I've already watched it at tv and I believe it is extraordinary. I remember I was running with the ball and I saw Chimenti closer and closer. Then I shot and I went to celebrate it where all Inter supporters were. It's been wonderful".

Next Sunday Inter will be facing Roma at San Siro. Chino Recoba has declared:
"I still remember Juventus match: if my shot had been right, we could have two points more. It is a pitty but I hope to score against Roma. Their squad is very strong and for this reason all Inter players must think about the victory. Other result won't be accepted".
