Recoba has Barca dream

There are doubts over Alvaro Recoba’s future at Inter after he admitted he’d love to play for Barcelona.

The 27-year-old made the revelation in an Argentine magazine when asked about his future.

"It is very difficult to play football in Italy because of the defensive nature of the game," he told El Grafico.

"That’s why I would like the chance to play in La Liga. Real Madrid are the best side in the world but joining Barcelona would be a dream for me."

The Uruguayan’s admission will undoubtedly increase speculation regarding his future at the San Siro.

The former Danubio star was signed by the Nerazzurri back in the summer of 1997 from Nacional Montevideo.

However, despite his undoubted potential, Recoba has never consistently performed for the club.

Many believe that he is still at Inter only because of his relationship with owner Massimo Moratti who is a massive fan of his skills.
